The Schmittenhoehe

If you want to hike to the Schwalbenwand, the Hundstein or the Schoenwieskopf, you might want to start from the Schmittenhoehe. The paths there are beautiful and you’re always surrounded by the great nature that these places offer. The panoramic views will leave you with priceless holiday memories. The gondola ride is already included in our Zell am See/Kaprun Card.

Maurerkogel and Kitzsteinhorn

For the adrenaline junkies among you, we recommend the Maurerkogel and the Kitzsteinhorn. They are significantly higher and can be reached by gondola. Following Sissi’s footsteps is also possible here: The two-kilometer hiking trail is dedicated to the former Austrian empress. Those with a little more stamina can walk the 25-kilometer Pinzgau Ridgeway. Enjoy it for one or several days with overnight accommodations at the Sonnbergalm.

360-degree panoramic view of the most beautiful mountains in the region: the Wilder Kaiser, the stony sea and the High Tauern with the Großglockner, Kitzsteinhorn and Grossvenediger. If you want even more action, you shouldn’t miss the guided tour with a qualified mountain guide on the high alpine terrain of the Kitzsteinhorn. There you will safely climb your first three-thousand-meter peak.
